With Estafette, KEVN is taking a new step as an exhibition space for artists with roots in graffiti and street art. In 2025, nine artists will get the chance to develop and present new work. The programme revolves around collaboration, experimentation and knowledge sharing.
Two of the three exhibition rooms of KEVN will be dedicated to the Estafette program. During a two-week residency period, an artist duo will transform these two rooms into an open studios. As a visitor you can enter their ‘studio’ and see how they work. They create, discuss, visit inspiring places and work together towards an exhibition, which is then on view for nine weeks.
During the year, the following duos Pass the Baton to each other:
For each artist duo we host an exhibition opening, where we invite the artists and reflect on their collaboration. Near the end of each exhibition, during our Pass the Baton event, we will look back on what has been created and the whole process behind it. During this event the baton will be passed on from the current artist duo to the new one. The new makers will be interviewed on what’s to come in their residency period.
Each residency will be captured in a publication, made by Chemistry Publishing. These publications will be presented during the Pass the Baton event at the end of each residency.
Estafette at KEVN
Our goal with Estafette is to support street art and graffiti artists in transitioning to a gallery setting while staying true to their roots. We foster artistic growth by providing a space for development, collaboration, and presentation.
The program connects artists to a strong network and encourages skill-sharing and mutual learning. With guidance from a coach-curator, artists work toward presenting their creations authentically in a studio or exhibition space. The focus is on supporting their professional growth and helping them thrive in new contexts without losing their unique identity.

Estafette #1
The first edition of Estafette kicked off with Thomas & Jurgen and Yann L’Outsider. During a two-week residency, this creative trio transformed our exhibition spaces into open studios, inviting the public to witness their process. Throughout this time, they created, collaborated, visited inspiring places, and engaged in discussions, all while working towards the exhibition that was on view for nine weeks.
Thomas & Jurgen and Yann L’outsider
Their work is defined by contrasts, expressive line work, bold surfaces, organic forms, and a striking use of black and white. Both share a fascination with movement and its connection to visual imagery. Thomas & Jurgen, for example, experiment with performances in which they create art to the rhythm of a live jazz band. Yann L’Outsider, on the other hand, draws inspiration from dance, viewing graffiti as an unintentional choreography that incorporates various movements and rhythms.
