Right next to our “Driven by Purpose” exhibition, you’ll find Social Rebels with their Mental Gym out on the terrace. Architectuurlessen will be running their “Buitengewoon Bijzondere Burcht” workshops, plus we’ve got live music, tasty food, and amazing cocktails.
Driven by Purpose
A showcase of tomorrow’s Dutch Design
The exhibition “Driven by Purpose” will bring together 20 diverse studios across various disciplines, offering a snapshot of Dutch design at its finest. The exhibition features all the creative minds from the 2024 cohort of Driving Dutch Design (DDD). DDD is a professionalization and networking program for ambitious designers, co-organized by BNO, the Dutch Design Foundation, and Stichting Stokroos.
While the participants come from different stages in their careers and represent a wide range of design fields, they share one unifying trait: a passion for their craft and a drive to make the world a better place.
Mark your calendars for the (UN) OFFICIAL DDW OPENING on Wednesday, October 23, starting at 18:00. This exciting event will include live performances, featuring local talent from Eindhoven’s underground music scene.
The Mental Gym
Social Rebels and the Municipality of Eindhoven have teamed up to create a unique gym for the mind, where you can discover what works best for your well-being through various ‘mental workouts’.
Buitengewoon Bijzondere Burcht
During DDW, Architectuurlessen will host the workshop ‘Buitengewoon Bijzondere Burcht,’ where roof panels are screwed, tilts are sawed, and houses are connected with suspension bridges. Various techniques are explored to transform flat surfaces into 3D shapes. Cardboard strips become houses, walls, towers, bridges, and more! By connecting, stacking, and arranging these designs in a landscape, participants will build a ‘Buitengewoon Bijzondere Burcht.’
